The Department of Economics and Business of the University of Catania is seeking for potential candidates to fill a three-year research position in Statistics through a competitive application.
We aim at recruiting a scholar with a strong quantitative background who can provide good research in Statistics with a special focus on classification and contrastive learning.
Please note that scholars moving their residence to Italy benefit from five pr more years of substantial tax exemption.
Candidates must meet the following teaching and research qualification criteria:
- Teaching: The candidate is expected to provide high quality teaching in bachelor or master courses in both methodological and applied statistics.
- Research: Candidates should demonstrate a good level of productivity in terms of research publications in international top journals. The research areas of interest include Statistical methods, classificationa and model-based clustering, Statistical Learning.
Knowledge of Italian language is not required, ability to teach in English is compulsory. There are no restrictions regarding the nationality of the applicants. Equal gender opportunities are guaranteed.
