ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The AESOP Young Academics (YA) PhD Conference is an annual, free-of-charge academic event for PhD students and early-career researchers in the field of spatial planning and related disciplines. It provides a unique platform for young scholars to present their work, receive feedback from peers and senior academics, and engage in interdisciplinary debate.
The 20ᵗʰ edition in Prague invites contributions that critically explore urban and rural transformations, governance innovation, spatial justice, and new methodologies addressing accessibility, inclusion, resilience, and the complex dynamics of urban-rural interactions.
THEMATIC TRACKS
- Proximity and Permeability Revisited
Exploring how spatial configurations and territorial morphology influence accessibility, mobility, sustainability, and social cohesion. - Flows and Connections Revisited
Investigating material and immaterial flows (people, goods, data, knowledge) that shape spatial interactions and regional resilience. - Governance and Tools Revisited
Focusing on data-driven planning, governance innovation, and participatory tools fostering inclusive and adaptive environments. - Inclusion and Dynamics Revisited
Addressing how planning can enhance access to housing, employment, and services in the context of demographic shifts, climate change, and economic transitions.
