Fee

An applicant for an extramural doctoral degree shall be required to pay the costs associated with:
– the proceedings for the award of the doctoral degree,
– the process of verification of learning outcomes at PRK level 8.

If the person applying for the doctoral degree does not have an appropriate diploma or certificate confirming the knowledge of the language at the language proficiency level of at least B2 (referred to in Annex 2 to the Regulations), she/he may take an examination (at extra cost) organised by the EUK Language Centre.

Fee for proceedings for the award of a doctoral degree


>> The costs of the proceedings include:

  1. supervisor’s remuneration – 83% of the minimum rate of standard professor’s remuneration
  2. auxiliary supervisor’s remuneration – 50% of the minimum rate of standard professor’s remuneration (jeśli dotyczy)
  3. reviewer’s remuneration – 27% of the minimum rate of standard professor’s remuneration (x3)
  4. remuneration of the members of the examination committee – total 7,2% of the minimum rate of standard professor’s remuneration
  5. insurance contributions / charges (obligatory payments to ZUS, PPK)
  6. other direct costs (including transportation, accommodation, etc.)
  7. indirect cost – 25% of all direct costs

The amount of a professor’s remuneration is determined by a regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education – currently it is PLN 9370.

After the procedure for awarding the doctoral degree is completed, the amount of the fees is reviewed and updated in accordance with the regulations in force on the date the costs were incurred.

A contract is concluded with the candidate for the award of a doctoral degree (template – Appendix No. 1 to the Regulation by the Rector No. R.0211.69.2023). The fee for the proceedings is paid in two parts:

  1. Part I of the fee covering: the remuneration of the supervisor(s), the remuneration of the auxiliary supervisor(s) (if applicable), the remuneration of the reviewers, the remuneration of the members of the examination committee, the additional remuneration charges and the corresponding indirect costs shall be paid prior to the submission of the application initiate the procedure for awarding a doctoral degree (i.e. just before the submission of the finished doctoral thesis)
  2. Part II of the fee, which covers other direct costs (business travel, accommodation, etc.) and the corresponding indirect costs, shall be paid before the doctoral committee submits the application for the award of the doctoral degree to the appropriate Council for Academic Discipline (i.e. after the public defence of the doctoral thesis)

The fee for conducting an examination verifying the learning outcomes at PQF level 8 equals 10% of the minimum of a professor’s remuneration, as determined by the minister responsible for Hhigher Education and Science. The fee should be paid before submitting the documents required for the learning outcomes verification process to the University’s account (Alior Bank Spółka Akcyjna):
