Doctoral Colloquium & Junior Faculty Consortium, AIB-CEE Conference, Poznań, Sept 21, 2026

Applications are now open for the AIB-CEE Chapter Doctoral Colloquium and Junior Faculty Consortium, which will take place on 21 September 2026 as part of the pre-conference programme of the 12th AIB-CEE Annual Conference hosted by the Poznań University of Economics and Business (PUEB), Poland.

Both initiatives are designed to support early-career researchers through personalised feedback, mentoring, and professional development opportunities provided by internationally recognised scholars in the field of international business.


Doctoral Colloquium

Chair: Matt Raskovic (Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand)

Submission requirements

Applicants are asked to submit a five-page PhD proposal (excluding references) that includes:

  • Working title
  • 300-word background and motivation section
  • Research question(s)
  • Brief literature review with a clearly articulated theoretical gap
  • Key theoretical framework(s)
  • Research design
  • Expected contributions

Programme highlights

  • Crafting important, interesting and meaningful PhD projects – identifying theoretical gaps, developing strong research questions, and balancing phenomena, context, and theoretical originality.
  • Feedback Round Tables – interactive small-group sessions (3–4 PhD students per table) where participants receive detailed feedback from mentors and peers.

Junior Faculty Consortium

Chair: Noemi Sinkovics (Newcastle University, United Kingdom)

Submission requirements

Applicants should submit:

  • A three-page motivation statement outlining:
    • personal motivation for attending,
    • specific questions they would like answered,
    • their research identity and type of research;
  • A full academic CV.

Programme highlights

  • Building a coherent academic profile – developing a clear scholarly identity and aligning research, teaching, and engagement activities for long-term academic growth.
  • Early-career academic careers in practice: myths, realities, and lessons learned – a moderated panel discussion with senior academics on career pathways, professional challenges, and practical advice, followed by an open Q&A session.

Both programmes will begin with a joint welcome from:

  • Andreja Jaklič – AIB-CEE Chapter Chair
  • Noemi Sinkovics – AIB UK & Ireland Chair and WAIB President
  • Matt Raskovic – AIB Vice President Administration (VPA)
  • A representative of the Poznań University of Economics and Business
